Chapter 4: Sketching the boss

  1. Click on the 3D part. The 3D Standard Ribbon gets activated.
  2. Select Processing plane in the visualization toolbar. Processing plane
  3. Select the top face of the part.

    Notice how the edges of the top face are highlighted in purple.
  4. Click on your RMB (Right Mouse Button) to accept the suggestion.
  5. Click Add sweep with translation. Add sweep with translation
    The ribbon bar should automatically change to the Sketch tab. If not, click on the sketch tab yourself.
  6. Click on Circle. Circle
  7. Move your mouse to the edge of the base part. If your close to the edge the HiCAD autopilot shows the [Z] symbol, which means that you have selected the center of the base.

    Select the Center.
  8. Press the Spacebar to enter a value.
  9. Enter the value: 37.5 as radius for your circle.
  10. Click on others to open the submenu of the line tools. Others
  11. Select the function Parallel to create an offset. Parallel via value
  12. Select the last created circle on the inside (this is your offset direction)
  13. Enter the value: 5 as your offset.
  14. Enter the Value 12 in your Add sweep dialog and press add.
