Chapter 1: Introduction

This lessons guides you through the creation of a part and a drawing. You create this part and drawing:

This lesson includes:

Creating features from base parts and sketches
Adding fillets to smooth edges
Creating a circular pattern
Adding drawing views
Adding centerlines and dimensions to the drawing.

Your first part

For your first part, you create the pressure plate shown below. In HiCAD a part is a 3D model which can be made out of features, dynamically or a combination of these two.

You begin this lesson by creating a new part.

Click New construction in the ribbon bar.
The HiCAD neXt Start Center appears.
Click op Create new drawing (3-D/2-D part)
Set Start mode to Solid Primitive
Set View projection to Standard axonometric
Set View representation to Shaded with edges
Klik OK

A new construction has been created and the New solid primitive menu appears.
